Can I Use an EA or Trading Bot on FFUNDED?
Fully automated trading is not permitted on FFUNDED unless the specific plan you buy expressly allows it. That means expert advisors (EAs), trading bots and other fully automated systems are off by default. FFUNDED runs automation-detection controls, and where automation is found, the account may be placed under review, restricted or terminated under the applicable terms.
What "automated" means here
The rule targets systems that place and manage trades without you. Expert advisors, bots and algorithmic scripts that trade the account on their own fall under the prohibition unless your plan states otherwise. The point is that an evaluation measures *your* trading skill, so the trading has to be yours.
Copy trading and signal following are treated separately and are also restricted: mirroring positions across accounts you do not personally trade is prohibited on all accounts.
How detection works
FFUNDED operates automation-detection controls that examine order timing, position sizing and behavioural fingerprints, the patterns that separate a human clicking a platform from a script firing orders. Where those signals indicate automation, the account can be placed into a review state while the activity is examined. During review, certain account actions may be limited. If a breach is confirmed the outcome set out in your plan terms applies; if no breach is found, the account is released and continues normally.
What is usually fine
Tools that assist your own manual trading, rather than trade for you, are a different thing from a fully automated system. Because the boundary depends on your plan and on how a tool actually behaves, check your plan terms before relying on any tool, and when in doubt ask support first. Getting written confirmation beforehand is far cheaper than a review afterward.
Common mistakes
- Assuming "algo-friendly" language from another prop firm applies here. Automation permission is plan-specific on FFUNDED.
- Running an EA "just for entries" or "just for management". Both are automation.
- Copy trading from a master account you do not personally trade. That is prohibited regardless of automation.
- Testing a bot on a live evaluation to "see if it gets flagged". Detection can lead to termination, not a warning.
Frequently asked questions
Are expert advisors allowed on FFUNDED?
Expert advisors and bots are not permitted unless the specific plan you purchase expressly allows automated trading. By default, trading must be your own. Check your plan terms, and confirm with support before using any automated tool.
What happens if automation is detected?
The account may be placed under review while the activity is examined, and can be restricted or terminated in line with the applicable Challenge Terms if a breach is confirmed. If no breach is found, the account is released and continues as normal.
Is copy trading allowed?
Copy trading or signal following that mirrors positions across accounts you do not personally trade is prohibited on all accounts. This is separate from the automation rule and applies even if no bot is involved.
Can I use a trade-copier between my own accounts?
Mirroring positions across accounts is restricted, and automation is plan-specific, so do not assume a copier is permitted. Confirm in writing with support against your plan terms before running one.
